This is my favourite watch! Every time I look at it, I think "If I could have only one watch...". I won't be able to get my new Milgauss till the beginning of next week, but I know that even when I do get it - as excited as I will be - my little 36mm Railmaster will still be the favourite! Actually, it doesn't look so little. This may give some of you folks an idea of just how good some of these "smaller" models look, ie Air King, Explorer I, Perpetual, all 34 and 36mm.
While I was waiting to get my new Omega Aqua Terra 8500 last spring, I saw this Railmaster and fell in love. My AT was on the way, and paid for, so I couldn't afford this one. Six months later, this was still in the display case. And it is still my favourite: The dark brown leather strap is the lastest addition. It originally came with the steel bracelet. This is actually a bit clearer photo. I gives a perfect idea of the dial colour and the colour of the bracelet: Cheers, Carl |

That looks just great! The more I see of this Explorer I, the more I want one. I saw it the other day, and ended up choosing the Milgauss, but I was so close to getting this one. It is such a beautiful, uncomplicated piece - kind of like my Omega Railmaster, but still a totally different watch. Here is a picture of my Railmaster, although it is also beautiful in it's simplicity, you can see how the Explorer is different. The Railmaster dial has much more of a matte finish. Both of these watches are really all-time favourites of mine:
The brown leather strap now makes the Railmaster a lot different: I wonder what the Explorer would look like on leather? The dial is such a deep, rich black. Maybe the leather would detract from the dial, it looks so good with the ss bracelet. Cheers, Carl |
