Daytona vs YachtMaster

I tried on a white face Daytona lat my AD last week, and a black face a couple of months ago. What they did for me was.............nothing. Just a watch with no date feature. The hype is that they're made of Unobtainium. Then I tried on the platinum YM again and it didn't sing to me, it was the full blown Vienna Boys Orchestra. I LOVE that watch!!! If I could find an even trade for my TT black Sub I'd do it in a heartbeat. Any plat YM owners here?

Can't say I blame you, Alcan. The SS/Pt.YM is a beaut!! The Oysterlock bracelet on this baby is ALL SOLID LINKS and the centre links are polished giving the watch a very "pricey" look to match up with the solid Platinum bezel and stunning Pt. dial.

Excellent choice, I say!! Go for it!! Good luck!!

Don't own a YM, but I wouldn't mind a Pt/SS one. It's a beautiful watch, much nice than the Daytona. Go for it.

Here's another pic showing the Daytona clasp/rapid adjustment link fitted, it really makes a difference and gives the watch a much greater overall quality feel and look IMO!

but still not for me!

I had the yacht master platy and loved it but traded a sea dweller and a yachtmaster for daytona. Daytona to me is just at another level. Yacht master felt like a sub with bling and had two other subs I wanted a little more variety. I see it this way it was harder to obtain the daytona because of the cost so I had a chance and traded for it. You can always pick up a yachtmaster ss you can purchase two yachtmaster for the price of one daytona IMHO second hand market

If it's my only Rolex, I would lean to the YM due to the date feature. If I had another rolex with a date then I would go Daytona.
