GMT2c SS Clasp Print color

Hi there,

I have seen 2 types of GMT2c Clasp Logo color?

There are grey and black printed logo? It was mentioned that grey was found in the Z series of the GMT 2c SS and IT became black in the M series........

Mine is grey color and code OP (sandblasted).

All GMT2c owners M or V series......can you share the pics of your clasp?

Why change from grey to black?

Hmm..
can you show with a pic??
I don't understand what you mean??
Is it the logo on the flip or on the logo inside the clasp??

FWIW mine (Z serial, OP10 clasp code) looks just like yours...that is to say, gray.
And yes, mine also has the 15/423.

Sounds right for grey clasp and Z serial.

For those who have M or V series - do you have the 15/423?

This is interesting. how we wish that those with 15/423 is the limited edition of 50 anniversary GMT2c edition.

Looks like V series has black print only. Only Z & M series has grey then. @the first edition GMT2c.

No too sure , I have so far only seen black on all new style clasps .
What is this type of wrapping / protection as shown on the second picture . Never seen this on any Rolex ? Is this original ?

would be interesting to know if, in some of the reported clasp failures due to spot welds coming apart, whether the clasps had gray or black printing and if any corellation exists.

During the midst of M Series, the clasp printing transits from grey to black..........and Rolex removed the 15/423 code which could be the code for experimental clasp grey printing on the initial Z series GMT2c - 1st Generation of the actual 50 years anniversary.

Wouldnt this made all Z series GMT2c owners unique!!!!! You are the only ones who will have the clasp with code 15/432.

It will be the most sought after GMT2c SS Green GMT of all time.....

What if Rolex remove the green GMT wording and replace with white in future....Then it will be the Single green GMT2c SS in future for all Z, M and V series........we wish right?

Nope....the wrapping is unusual and from a grey dealer trying to prevent their new rolex from being scratched. AD can have 1 to 1 exchange if any scratch found but not grey dealers.....

This is interesting.
Not sure if Larry would support that we start this mini-project of gathering M Series GMT2c SS Clasp code and Serial number gathering info and we can predict which MXXXXXX series did the clasp transit from grey print to black print...and nail down Rolex's EOL of experimental clasp.

All GMT2c owners....fall in......Report M Series code and Clasp code........

Please add-on to the list

I have seen:
Z80XXXX and OP10 with Code 15/432 (grey print)
M02XXXX and E02 with code 15/432 (grey print)
V20XXXX and PJ12 with no code 15/432 (Black print)

Please add on

OK, in the interests of science, I'll donate as well...

M95 series
Grey writing
PJ2
No code

So, to add to your list below

Z80XXXX and OP10 with Code 15/432 (grey print) (subgmt)
ZXXXXXX and Op10 with code 15/432 (grey print) (Damageinc)
M02XXXX and E02 with code 15/432 (grey print)
MXXXXXXand EO3 with code 15/432 (grey) (Glendon21)
------------------------------------------------------------
M56xxxxx and E010 with no code (gray print) (Ticowa)
V20XXXX and PJ12 with no code (Black print)
V7XX series, black print with no code (dimster)
VXXXXXX, Black print (Jamesworthy)
V Black (0800am)
M95XXX Grey print, PJ2 no code (Porsche)

So looks like mine is the rarest one... I'll sel to the highest bidder!

No seriously, would be interesting to know the details of the 2-3 clasp failures reported so far...

PS. are you sure about code PJ12? Mine is PJ2.... does that mean they went through numbers 2, 3, 4 etc or just added a "1" or maybe just a typo by you?
