Sea Dweller Deep Sea - "Springy" Bezel?
Hi All. Just picked up my Sea Dweller Deep Sea and I'm loving it. Comparing it to a friend's Sea Dweller the size difference is remarkable. I've got a question on the bezel: On the SDDS when I press down on the bezel there is tiny bit of springy give. The bezel on my friend's Sea Dweller has no give whatsoever. Anyone with a SDDS notice the same 'springy give' when pressing straight down on the bezel?
Thanks, Stephen |

Hi Stephen, just tried it with my DSSD and yes when i press down on opposing sides there is a bit of springiness on the bezel, probably the ball-bearings under it.
Nothing to worry about i would think. Nigel. |

Mine too, probably a design feature for when the watch is under pressure, although I'm no expert on this.

If you look at the exploded view of the DSSD (posted somewhere on the board) you will see that the bezel click is achieved by having 4 holes in the case - all 4 have tiny springs and 3 have ball bearings while one has an angled pin which prevents clockwise rotation.
It must be the springs you feel.

If it didn't do it you might have had a " Greg's special "
P.S. Just in case : I refer to the sticky tread in the watch out section . It was Greg that reported that type of watch , he ( Greg ) himself has nothing to do with it . |

That's incorrect Mic, just as stated above the 3 spring loaded bearings are what give the DeepSea a spongy feeling.
The old style SD and Subs use a click spring with a stainless flat washer that is diameter as the bezel and insert. |
