Quick question - SD or DSSD for business meeting?
So business meeting with a group of lawyers that I do consulting for. I will be wearing a suit. Should I go with the understated SD or the new DSSD? Decisions, decisions... can't decide.

You shouldn't go to any business meeting where what you are wearing will be a distraction, if you are giving a presentation...

Guess you could roll up your sleeve so you could actually wear the DSSD.

Wear the DSSD. It gives you credibility.

99% of people won't notice your watch, regardless if it's a Rolex or a Fossil, so wear what you want. A DSSD doesn't stick out anymore than any other watch as it fits no problem under a shirt cuff or suit. You guys act like the DSSD is a 55mm U-Boat.
A Rolex is a Rolex. Someone isn't going to look at you and say "well, if he was wearing a Sea-Dweller, I wouldn't think he was a pretentious prick, but since he has on the Deepsea, there is no way I am doing business with him". |

I have to pull my Sub Date out and put the edge of my cuff against the 9 o'clock side. |

Well, first, you wear Banana Republic so you probably have 6" wrists :) Any shirt I've ever bought, outside a few french-cuff shirts, fit the DSSD under the cuff no problem.

Mostly thinking of my own potential discomfort of wearing a much more noticeable watch. Not necessarily insecure but will be with a co-worker as well who has more of a direct responsibility to the group and where fees are an issue.
Not sure if it will fit under my cuff but will give it a shot tomorrow morning.

But seriously...If you are looking to get noticed, the DSSD will get noticed. Just not sure that's what you want in a meeting. |

On the flip side, you will be with a bunch of lawyers, who will all probably have their own Rolex own. I think that a lot of time we put a lot more time and effort into think that people actually notice what watches we are wearing. That simply isn't the case. |

That's a great point. I was wearing a newly PCL'd Coke GMT last week at a meeting with an auto manufacturer while I was presenting (Apple Keynote of course). I swear the whole time, my contact's eyes were on the watch.

Id wear the SD and I wear Brioni Shirts (look em up, heck even Bond wears em and I did not know that till years after I started wearing them) and sorry but the DSSD did not fit comfortably under them and they are a classic cuff not some tight snobby typical Euro job.
If it works for you thats great I am just saying it did not for me. The SD is GREAT for a suit, the DSSD is great for casual dress down, the swimming pool and everything in between.

I would wear the SD, the DSSD would be too large on my wrist.

Wear whatever makes you happy. Most people won't notice anyway. By the way, I wear my Deepsea all the time to work and I really don't think anyone even notices it at all. That's one of the things I like about Rolex, most stainless sport watches aren't flashy and are pretty understated. You can actually wear them every day and not have to worry about it.

It depends on whether the meeting is being held at more or less than 4,000 ft under water...
Cheers

You should be wearing a thin dress watch on a strap that matches your belt and shoes.

I would wear the SD, I don't care at all for the DSSD. But you should do what pleases you and no one else.

Some of what was said in this thread is not always true. The DSSD is more likely to get noticed because of its wrist presence over the SD. I have both of these watches, and the DSSD does get noticed occasionally (still fairly unlikely for your watch to be noticed) over the SD. In fact, I have never had someone comment on the SD, but have had the DSSD noticed a couple times.
What it boils down to is: Do you want to go unnoticed at this meeting? Or, do possibly want to intimidate.........The DSSD if noticed, can be intimidating. (At least it was intimidating in the couple instances where mine was noticed in a meeting.)

How come when I reply the photo isn't always included? Sometimes it is and sometimes it isn't.
