I am a keen diver but i would never take a pricey watch for diving especially when I have a computer which I can use as a watch at the same time.

Do you actually dive with your dive watches?

Btw, I use this one for diving and sporting:

Not a big diver but the few trips I have done
I wear whatever I have on. I have worn a
SD, DSSD, Exp II, IWC Ti Aquatimer Ti Chrono
all diving or snorkeling without a second thought.
I just like having a watch on when in the water,
I figure the old timers always did so it can't hurt :)

Also I always wear a mechanical watch, I doubt they
wind underwater but I figure the computer is electric
and if something weird happened disabling electronics
I will always have the watch to tell me when I am at
timewise.

I've done a little snorkling with my watches before. There are a few folks here that have posted pictures of them snorkling with their Rollie

Snorkeling is one thing. For that you don't need a computer. I know that a lot of people prefer normal computers to wrist ones, but I kind of like that it works as a computer under water and as a sport watch on the surface.

I have taken my Rolex for a dive, but just for saying that I did it. The rest of the time I wear wrist-mounted computers (main and backup).

I was out there this weekend, and the highlight was an octopus that wanted to play (started to wrap around my hand, then swam away a few feet, I got closer, we stared at each other for a few seconds, he moved back... That was cool). Oh! And there was a possible great white shark sighting nearby a few days ago, so I kept my eyes open!

The Mares Nemo Excel is a good looking computer!!!

Ah, that sounds awsome for somebody spending his weekend shoveling snow....
I love great whites.

I was considering a Suunto as well, but it is much more expensive, I prefer the design of the Nemo and I am more than satified with it so I guess I stick with the brand.

Cool! Were you on those dives? I've never been on a shark dive. One of my friends went recently and then he edited a movie using the Jaws soundtrack as background music, it was really cool.

And it's cold water diving around here, so it's not like I was in a tropical place with palm trees and coconuts, don't feel too bad, hehe. But the kelp forests are very nice.

Just a shame that I'm unable to match her 96m! By PB is a little under 60 feet...

It's funny, I have all dive watches but I've never went on a dive in my life lol
The deepest my Seamasters have been is about 8 feet in a swimming pool lol
I would love to learn how to dive though :)

I'm only a recreational diver but ALWAYS wear my SD on the dive!!! That's what it's made for.......

the depth rating beats any other watch but you need a good underwater torch to use it. :-)
