There used to be a company here in town that painted the glowing watch hands. They were in business for nearly 20 years, and closed in the 70's. The employees used to paint their fingernails, and everything else with the glowing material.
The EPA condemned the property until it was decontaminated. A company came in and dug 20 feet down, and put every pinch of dirt in a 55gal drum, and hauled it off. The land was filled in with fresh dirt, and a fast food resteraunt sits there now. I work across the street, and hear the story from old timers about twice a year. Didn't they know that glowing paste from a nuclear reaction might be bad? |
