Milgauss GV Crystal Problems
Been reading about this on the forum and it came as news to me. Has anyone experienced any crystal issues with their GV? Any pictures to share? Has Rolex corrected any alleged problems?

Had mine for 13 months as well, and it hasn't come off my wrist much so it is pretty much my banger for the last year. As a Chef it get its share of hard knocks and comes through shining. No prob on my end and I don't worry about the crystal at all.

When the GV first came out there were some issues associated with the green sapphire manufacturing process..
The GV was not being brought to the market for a short time to straighten the issues out. At that time, the price for GV's in the market place doubled, trippled and more........... Once the supply started again, the prices have stabalized.......There isn't any known "problem" with any that made it to the market..

I think it was a production problem (i.e. growing the green crystal consistently on a large scale) rather than there being any weaknesses within ones on the watch. There's no need to panic

The green crystal glistens in the sun, and wears very comfortably.

Love the green crystal. No other Rolex can claim this attribute.

Fact is I put this watch through the test everyday and it comes out on top every bump it receives :) And as a Chef I would put this watch into the professional category for a Rolex for sure, it has withstood all punishment I have dealt it so far in day to day wear, and still smiles at me like it did when I first saw her.
I would be surprised to see any one post about defective crystal on a watch that they personally had. Dan |
