AD Visit today...Boston

So I had some time during my lunch break today and decided to make visit to one of the ADs near my office. I actually stopped by yesterday but they were kind of busy and didn't really try anything on. Today, I got a chance to see what new inventory they had in. They actually had several new pieces come in since my last visit. I noticed they had the WG Subarmariner, Everose Gold Daytona, GV Milgauss, and the normal pieces. I was absolutely stunned by the WG Sub. I actually saw it before on a trip to Vegas once and the more I see it, the more I'm in love with it. He was even willing to give me a 20% discount off that watch and 10% discount on the GMT. I know I can get a GMT IIc here on TRF for a much better price but the WG Sub is hard to find. Unfortunately, I'm not ready to drop $20k on one single watch at this point in my life. What od you guys think of the discount they gave? Do you guys think I can do better?

I think you can do better than 20% on a solid gold model. If you were serious about buying, I'd push for 25%-30%. You should be able to get that much in this economy.

Which AD did you go to?

If you are indeed serious and convey that to the AD you should be able to get closer to 30% I would think. But again, you should be serious if you start pushing for a bigger discount.

Jon--AD's will move that watch for 30%--especially if they just took it in as they get an extra 2% for moving in first 30 days from Rolex on top of the 10% they make off the top. I know some people on here were seeing them for 33% off--AD still makes 7% on that high end watch--not bad for them.

Yea, I think 30% is more along the lines. I was looking at some that were sold here on TRF before and it seems to lie along the 30% mark. Unfortunatly even at 30%, its a lot of money for me personally to spend on one watch at my point in life. Hopefully later down the road.

Unless you're locked into purchasing from an AD, give DavidSW a call after you decide which one you want. You'll be pleasantly surprised!

WOW! I was told 20% off was a good deal. ADs really do up to 30% for solid gold? Maybe because i'm in new york?
