Just got my Deepsea and......
Hello forum members,
I have been a lurker of the site for some time, and this will be my first post. I received my new V-Series Deepsea yesterday, and all I can say is WOW! I read all the reviews, and took all the information with a grain of salt. I have owned a SD 4000 for ten years, and have worm it proudly. However, this watch is like no other. I read the complaints for the thin band, writing on the ring lock, and the size. But after wearing this badboy for one day, all that stuff dissipates, and you are left with what may be one of the BADDEST WATCHES on the planet. It is extremely comfortable, and I have a smaller wrist. The writing is barely noticable on the wrist, and the size, well thats what makes the watch. I read some other car analogies used, but I liken it to seeing the high performance sport car with the perfect rims, paint, ETC and it just stands out from similar models. Well that is the DEEPSEA, it is truly in a class by itself. The watch commands attention if your into that, looks great just minding it owns business, and is fun just to look at!! I also have a44MM PAM-Luminor and it is every bit as comfortable as the SD 4000 and the PAM. So anyone who is on the fence, you really can not understand how great this watch is until on your wrist. This will be my new daily watch, and could not be happier with it. It flat out over shadows my PAM-164, SD-4000, and Frank Mueller - Master Banker, in fit and finish, wow factor, and presence hands down. Just sayin is all!! ![]() ![]() CONS: Waited to long to purchase PROS: A true materpiece. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() |

Agree with everything you said and glad you went for the DSSD even though you already own an SD as it would have been a shame not to own experience the DSSD.
Well done ![]() |

Thanks for the warm greeting forum members. I appreciate the positive feedback as well. I could have used many more adjectives to describe this watch, but in all honesty when I opened the box and put it on, I was just blown away and said WOW! I will in the future try to be more exuberant and descriptive in my posts. LOL... Thanks again all!! Enjoy your Sunday where ever you are!!

I agree 100% with you that the DS is a watch in class all by it self.

Congrats - that's one bada$$ watch! I just joined the forum yesterday to look at pictures of the Deepsea. I'm still questioning whether I'm far enough into my career to own a Rolex. It's my opinion that owning a Rolex says a lot about you - not looking to start a debate on that topic though (especially with my first post). Nonetheless, I saw the Deepsea at one of the local AD's and I'm having trouble resisting. What a beautiful beast.

Wrist shots!!!
BTW, judging on the links on your SD bracelet, you look to have 1/2 a link more than me. I wanna see what the DSSD looks on your wrist.

Yup the deep sea broke the old mold of the SD. Thank god it gives my SD more $$$ in the years to come. I have always been a SD fan nothing tickles me in the right spot like an SD. I know alot of people complain it is too big but it is a VERY handsome watch and it commands attention you could not have put it in better words.

Yikes. My wrist is 7.5". By the look of the links in your bracelets...
(two fewer than in mine), considering each link is about 3/4", your wrist figures to be around 6". I consider the DS to be too bulky for my own wrist, and got a new SD instead. If you're comfortable with it, more power to ya, but not for me.
I regret that the new DS appeals to the people who formally bought Breitlings, I just feel Rolex dive watches should be more serious than that. It's a lovely piece of work, but the professional diver I bought my SD from says he will never own a DS, and the divers he knows who did buy one based on the early buzz now wish they had not. Sorry, I don't mean to be negative, but that's just the way I sees it. |

Great pics and great input. I went to my AD to look at one today; unfortunately they did not have. I recently purchased an LV and with that traded my Sea-dweller for a PAM177. I miss the weight of the SD in comparison to the LV, but love the maxi dial. Well with the DS you get both and in the perfect size. Really need to see one in person, but it looks like a great watch. Still shake my head at the "advertising" on the ring lock as if we wouldn't know that if we blunked down $9K. I think I can get past the writing on the ring locks as the watch is so beautiful.
Again congratulations and thanks for the meaningful post. George |
