What does Columbus and my watch have in common...? they are both EXPLORERS!

After all the beautiful pics posted on my pic request thread and after finding an amazing deal used I am now the proud owner of a M serial Black Dial Explorer II with 3186 movement.

http://rolexforums.com/showthread.php?t=120963

This baby is almost brand new, less than a year old and has the Rolex chapter ring! I could'nt be happier... seller did all the tests and was sure that it had a 3186 movement inside but as soon as I got it I drove to my AD and had his Rolex Tech open it up and confirm that it was a 3186 in fact he even showed me the Parachrom Blu spring using his 10x loupe. I forgot my phone to take a pic though so I've included a pic of a 3186 movement courtesy of Fr John if you look at the right center of the last pic you can see the Parachrom Blu.

This movement is one beautiful workhorse...

I have been suffereing from "flipperitus" for years now but I think that this watch may finally be my keeper. It has run dead on to the second since I first put it on over a week now placing it crown up at night. I have it on right now and this watch is so comfortable and sleek... just perfect. I am a huge fan of this steel bezel as well and aesthetically I prefer it to any coloured bezel watch I have yet owned. I also noticed there is a line of polish surface that runs between the bezel and case (see pic #3 below) just to add that perfect touch of flash.

I hope I have done my small part to help anyone out there make the decision to add this beauty to their collection. I know that I could'nt be happier... enjoy the pics (many more to come) I also included my better halfs datejust as well though she though I was pretty crazy hanging around taking pics of her watch on such a beautiful day!

I have owned a few Subs and SDs and much prefer my Explorer II! Of course the new Ceramic Bezel Sub is a different story...

Nice review and pics REN. Wearing mine today too.

Glad to read you doubt that you will be flipping the EXP II, as that was an error I made but was luckily able to reclaim the exact watch.

Enjoy the enigma

The sub draws the victim in, the Exp II white dial finishes them off.

Nice shots Ren!!! Congrats again for the acquisition. Like the dial on your better half's watch, too!

I have'nt taken my watch off hardly at all since I first put it on recently... this is such a comfortable watch you almost forget it's there. Why did I wait so long to get one?
