I suggest you look for a cheap one. Mine accomodates two watches and has been running a few years. I think it was $39 or so.

If it quits you are not out much.

If you only have one or two watches don't waste you cash on a winder. Just wear them.

I believe somewhere I saw a spec for what winder works best with Rolex Watches. I believe it had to be auto-reversing or something like that...

It doesn't need to be on a winder while you sleep. It won't run down in that time.

One thing that is not listed with that winder is if you can set the turns-per-day. This is an important feature to keep a watch optimally wound.

Hello, I bought a Rolex 16610 recently and I’m looking for a watch winder. However I’m not sure if I have to buy a vertical winder or horizontal winder. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

I use a winder. I find it very convenient not to have to set the watch after not wearing it for a few days. My three are vertical- 2 Oribitas and a Wolf.

If you have multiple watches and do not want to reset--get one. I use on for my perpetual calendar watches as I do not want to reset when they wind down. For a plain watch with just a date or day date---again if you only have one--don't bother! PS--I use an Orbita which has recommended settings for different watches.

Any winder will be fine for any Rolex auto watch that winds in both direction like most winders do.Watch-winders today are just purely a modern day convenience, with out doubt the best winder is your own wrist,IMHO automatic watches are designed to be worn by people only and not machines. Now most people move in a huge diversity of manners, causing a fairly even distribution of motion of the watches winding mechanism. A watch winder is normally limited to a very small number of directions and types of movement normally just back and throe.IMHO a badly designed winder could in theory damage a watch and cause wear from excessive and repetitive movement on the same plane and axis to the escapement wheel pinions. Now because the oils used in most modern watches today and when properly serviced are not very prone to clotting or coagulating like the old mineral oils so its not a problem to just rest a watch for a month or longer then just wind reset and go must take all of 30 seconds to do.So IMHO watch-winders are not needed with any watch with just a simple date complication.

While there is no significant evidence that a good watch winder will either save or harm your watch.Over the many years of dealing with RSC Bexly and talking to the various watchmakers there, who did not recommend watch-winders for any of the Rolex line up.IMHO many watch-winders today have a high quality finish on the outside to justify the extremely high price, but hiding some very cheaply mass-produced insides. .

I have a few automatic pieces and a DJ on the way with no intention of buying a winder.. Just MHO tho I don't see them as necessary.. A few winds and quick set and there good to go!

Buy a high quality winder from Oribita like the Belino or a winder from Wolf. Cheap winders over time may magnitze your watch. My rolex has been on it's orbita winder or on my wrist for the past 12years. My watch keeps the same accuracy now as it did when new. I recomend a quality winder.

IMHO winders are a matter of convenience and not necessity. If you plan on wearing the watch daily, leaving your watch unworn while you sleep is not a problem unless you plan to sleep longer than 48hrs.

As I much as I refuse to own a winder, I will most likely succumb to buying one. Though I wear my watches in rotation, I always end up having to wind one.
I'm thinking of either an Orbita or Wolf.

By 650 you mean total of 1300 (650 left, 650 right) or total of 650 with 325 each direction?

I bought a winder but don't use it because I prefer to keep my watches in my safe. I just did not like the feeling of my watches sitting out after keeping in a safe all these years.

i have a wolf 2.7 recently acquired. i have 2 rolex & i find i wear the "other one" a lot more now that it's fully wound at all times. so far i say unequivocally positive experience. The programming flexibility (esp delay start) is great & their rest/wind algorithms seem pretty awesome so far.
