2010 sub date with non ceramic bezel?????
i am inquiring a little while ago about sub date v series in our authorized rolex dealer. i was told that there is a SUB DATE 16610 2010 model with non ceramic bezel.
i thought all along that the v series will be discontinued and instead the 2010 model is ceramic bezel only. need your opinion on this matter folks! thanks. by the way is there a sub no date 14060 V series??? |

There are V serial and even new "random serial" 16610 (non-ceramic) Subdates out there. Same for the ND Sub.
The ceramic Subdates haven't hit the AD's yet but I'm sure there will be some V serial ceramics floating around once available. The ceramic Subdate displayed at Basel 2010 was an M serial!!! Last edited by kokota; 27 May 2010 at 09:36 PM.. Reason: typo |

Apparently there are still quite a few around ! Some areas are sold out and dry, while others still have quite a few. My AD says that Rolex still has some, and releases them as demand warrants in certain areas. But....... be warned, the supply WILL be short as we get closer to the Ceramic release !! If you want a non Ceramic Sub I would suggest you jump on one now, if available !

It becomes confusing if you think about a rolex in model years. Rolex does not produce a watch by model year......... they simply produce one after another without regard to the year..
So, in fact, there really is no such thing as a 2010 model Rolex.. but rather only some known models that may have been manufactured during the 2010 year... Many serial prefixes overlap several years, but the watch is actually new and the clock doesn't start counting until on the day it is purchased.

Yes, the new 16610 I bought a few months ago has the new 'random' serial number. It took awhile to find one though as UK AD stock dwindles in preperation of the new Subs coming out. |
