Product placement in the movies.
I am watching an old movie. Marlon Brando in "The Fugitive Kind" based on a Tennessee Williams play. Black and white from the '50's. Brando mentions the watch by name at least twice and describes it. "Rolex Chronometer with day, date, month, and moon phases." Can't see the face but you can tell it is a beautiful watch with a leather band. There is nothing new under the sun.
