Greetings from manila!
Hey guys nice to finally be a part of the rolex forums. just a brief intro of myself, been into watches for as long as i can remember! thanks to my dad who is watch collector extrodinarie being the original rolex afficionado since the early 60s.
however in the very beginning i was given a datejust 36mm and rolex explorer 2 when i was in highschool. at the time they were huge by my standards but being the respectful son accepted these two timepieces. after that in my college years a YM plat/steel followed which i used for a couple of months and returned to my dad. my watch collection has varied much after having gone the royal oak offshore twice over, hublot big bangs, bell and ross bro1-94( had three including the phantom) panerai and the bigger uboats. found the rollies too small and i snobbed anyone who used them:) i have gone full circle and sold all of the watches above as i found them to be larger for my tastes and did not like the trend in the roo and bigbang series, getting too watered down. i am back to rollie and am loving the smaller size. cant get any perfect than this. so i added a Yacht master TT full size which my wife sequestered. also my dad gave gave me his 1982 day date yellow gold with champagne pyramid dial after moving on to VC and patek. man do i love this watch even though i cannot imagine myself wearing yellow gold. find it too tacky but getting used to it. my grail watch is a 36mm day date platinum with fluted dial. i have never bought my own rollie but this will definetely be my first! thanks guys have learned a lot from this forum |
