Hey guys,

I've never posted in this area of the forum before,, I humbly seek out your knowledge!

I have a few dings on my WG fluted bezel between 5 and 6 oclock. I wear my DJ on my right wrist so the dings are pretty prominent when the light hits them based on my usual viewing angle.

I have a family friend who is a well experienced certified Rolex watchmaker and he offered to do it at no cost so I figured why not!

I'm just curious. Does this involve anything other then using a special tool to remove the bezel and place it back on? Or does he have to take more of the watch apart. ie Remove crystal, etc.

Removal doesn't take a special tool; I use a single-edge razor blade to start it and then just pry it off with a knife blade.

The crystal usually comes off as well; just put it back on and then the bezel is pressed in place.

This is where the special tool is useful, but I've done it with a wooden dowel and some patience.

I would do it at no charge for a friend as well.

Wow it's that simple?

Wouldn't prying it off mark up the case seeing as you'd be using it as the leverage point? Or am I picturing it wrong

It's that simple; I've done it many times.

To avoid marking the case just twist the knife blade slightly, then move it around the case to another spot and do it some more.

The idea is to ease the bezel up, not pop it off.

i recommend leaving this stuff to trained people. have seen many attempt a variety of things only to cost them more in the end. make sure it is waterproof afterwards. just my opinion.
