Locked in my SD today with a deposit, and some pics for TRF!!!!

Well today I put my SD on layaway and hope to have it out in a couple of months. I got it for a very good price and while its not mint its in really good shape. It has everything but the cardboard outer box. It has the leather box, cloth, wallet, toolkit, dive cards, what appears to be a divers extension of some kind. Even the Rolex red hang tag. It also has the papers too. Its a K serial from 2002 I believe. Im extremely excited. Nothing is quite like a Rolex on the wrist is it? They have a beautiful bark Day Date with Tigers Eye dial. My brother is getting that one and putting his cash down Monday on it. I have not seen many DD watches in that combination before. Its very stunning in person.

On to the pics...

Finally on the wrist!!!!!

This last pic is not meant to have any political ramifications or implications. I did strike this Castro like pose only because of the iconic and infamous picture of him with two Rolex watches on the same wrist. How often will you get to have two Rolex watches on at the same time? One of which being a solid gold Day Date? All pics taken with a Blackberry.

I had a GMT Fat Lady I had to sell and wanted another Rolex ever since. I'm so fortunate to be able to afford this fine timepiece.

Nice one!

One of the great things about a Rolex is that, provinding its in fairly decent shape, buying one pre-owned is just as exciting as getting a brand new one IMHO.

New or vintage they are simply great! I hope you enjoy it when it arives!

Does anyone know how long Rolex did the SEL while still having lug holes? It's a very nice combo to me. I like lug holes! It screams "tool watch" to me.

It will clean up nicely I'm sure. When I pick it up I'll have it pressure tested then bring it home and take pics then pull the bracelet and give it nice warm water and Dawn dish soap bath! After that I must take the "after" pics of course!

I should be able to pay it off in just over two months. I can't wait!!!!
