The Daytona is so Convenient

I know alot of people complain about Daytonas and it lacking a date. On a day like today this is the very reason I like my Daytona. No need to reset the date.

I do not know why anyone would complain. The Daytona back in the 60-80's was not a big seller for Rolex and was produced in very low quantities-and was unpopular. It has never had the date and they are still making! If people want a date they should buy another watch! It is perfect as is--Enjoy it and who cares what anyone else thinks as long as you like looking at her on your wrist!! Cheers!!

I also prefer a no date Daytona. It works well IMO based on the current dial size.

Come on guys! Hell, it ain't that much trouble to make the occasional small adjustment. They don't call it quickset for nothing.

Yup...on days like today the Daytona's $10,400 msrp really seems like a bargain!

Who cares of the price now that I have one. Hopefully becoming more expensive in future. Having no date and and the extra power reserve works for me as I don't wear mine daily. When I wear mine the date doesn't matter.

Putting a date would spoil the asthetics of the dial... There's just enough "busy" there without being too busy if you know what I mean. I can stare at it all day.

I do like the Tudors, especially a panda with black bezel, but would still have a Daytona as my first choice.

PS: Omega did a pretty good job on their chrono/date http://www.rolexforums.com/showthread.php?p=2306269

Yeah, that 30 seconds it took me to change the date on my sub this morning was awful!

The Daytona is a beautiful watch...however, I am not sure I am buying your logic. It takes me about 15 seconds every OTHER month to change the date on my Sea Dweller. When I had my 14060M, I used to lose more time than that every single day instinctively checking for the date and then discovering that it wasn't there!

Faster than you can access your pushers!

In fact, why don't you come down to our KY GTG in April and we'll see who's quicker, Dan?

On my Speedie, I just set the chrono seconds hand to the minute marker corresponding to the date. No problem. Next day I depress the pusher...one more tick and stop. Works for me.

I definitely like wearing all of my no-date Rolex watches. (5513, 14060M, and 116400). It really isn't that hard to remember the date

I realize I'm probably the opposite of most on this thread, but I personally HATE months that are 31 days as it means I DON'T get to mess w/ the date function on my watch. I'm one of "those guys" that won't bring himself to owning a Daytona because of the dateless feature.

I'm the type that loves to work the action of the screw-in crown on a monthly basis as it gives me yet another moment to admire the craftsmanship & quality of my watch.

Sorry guys...but a Daytona-Date option will ALWAYS sound like a good alternative to me!

The closest thing to a daytona date is a Tudor Chrono. No thanks. I'll keep my daytona no-date.

Dan, I saw your GTG, and truly I'd like nothing better than to come down. I have a previous comittment on the 7th in Chicago so I am trying to see what I can do.

If it works out the dual of pushers should take place at high noon!!!
