Patek or Cellini?

I'm seriously thinking about a dress watch and have narrowed it down to a WG Patek Calatrava or a Plat Cellini Cellinium. I'm leaning toward the Patek but would like to hear your opinions on the Cellini line. I'm wondering why there is not much talk or information about Cellini on this forum.

I don't know much about the Cellini line, but if you have a chance to own a Patek, then you buy a Patek. It simply doesn't get any better.

Not even a question, Patek hands down. The Patek Calatrava 5127G is gorgeous! Don't even second guess yourself.

Patek 5196: The ultimate dress watch ever, IMHO.

If a Patek is possible, never think about Rolex.

Patek will hold its value exceedingly more than a Cellini will.

A Cellini is a very good watch......a PP is a better watch.......if you can swing it go for the PP........I like the 37mm Calatrava.............my favorite Cellini is the Danaos.
For a formal dress watch, the Danaos is a steal.

I think they're both beautiful watches. Aesthetically the Patek isn't so much a dress watch as just a very beautiful, archetypal all-round watch with a perfectly balanced design. The Cellenium is a bit more dressy, with a little extra style. So I think if you're looking for a watch you could wear everywhere the Patek is great, but the Cellenium will be a more interesting accessory for a night out in your duds.

I just got snagged by something in a lower price range, but still very lovely, the JLC Ultra-Thin 38. I think the design is absolutely *perfect*. I feel like it's the classiest watch I've ever seen.
