Getting the Mrs. addicted???

DAMM THATS BIG,

Took the wifey in to one of my local AD's yesterday hoping she would get bit by the Rolex bug,

I turned her over to one of the girls there so she could try on watches, while she did I tried on the new white gold YM II. Thats a big freakin watch. I will say it was very impressive but my little wrist couldnt hold under the presssure.

Unfortunetly she didnt get bit yet, I just want her to get off my back concerning my addiction hoping she would get it too!

Any suggestions out there? on how to get a hard headed wife addicted to Rolex?

My wife wore Rolex for a week. She seemed to like it, but it wore off.
She said she has other watches she likes better, and would rather spend the money on Purses, Shoes, Diamonds, etc.

If I took her to an AD and let her try on everything they had maybe she would find something that really screamed out to her, but so far, no luck.

I bought my wife a Rolex...this didn't make her a WIS but she is much more understanding of my hobby.

loads of hard work - but eventually it will work out in your favour.

say with my wife - has been an Omega girl from long long time ago (before we met) and i have successfully brought her into the Rolex side about 12 months ago

i think she probably had enough of my Rolex talk and decided to wear one of mine to see what the fuss was all about she started with 16610LV and moved onto 116520 white dial until recently

she asked today about the estimated arrival of "my" 42mm EXPII white dial... i think she may like that one too

keep it going, shouldnt be too far away now

I had the same problem, so I bought her a watch and then another. She wears the datejust everyday-- to the gym --everywhere and just recently pulled the YM out of the closet and gave it some long needed love. Good luck!

It is such an individual and varies so much from person to person.

I took my girlfriend to an AD, as I wanted to try on a watch. She started trying on a watch or two....... with the look in her eye, I knew I was in big... big trouble. I felt fortunate to get her out of there without buying a watch. I explained to her that she needs to pump up the 401K....... priorities... lay down until it goes away, etc.

I then gave it a couple of months and surprised her with a black dialed Air King off of TRF. She loves it and I love seeing it on her.

The clever husband would get his wife addicted to Rolex & then inform her of the latest fashion for women to actually wear men's Rolexes.........

Even better than the time Homer bought a bowling ball for Marge drilled for his fingers.

how i got my wife into watches...

i bought her a Tissot PR50 that she wore everyday for a year before i got her a Tudor midsize date which was her first step into the automatic watch phase. she loved that watch until it stopped working.
So i gave her my Sub to wear and that got her hooked! she told me everyone at work had commented and there were a couple of people that seemed jealous to me that said to her "i wouldnt spend that much money on a watch!"

we went to Hawaii for our honeymoon and wanted to get her a new datejust so we went into all the Rolex AD's to make her try all the different combos of DJ's.
i had my heart set on a white dialed stick marker with white gold bezel but she surprised me and picked this...

My wife has two and she is happy with that. I offered to get her the new DJ with pink floral dial with diamonds- she said no as she was conent with her WG Pres and Osyter date. I am thankful that she is not the addict I am!!! One Rolex addict is plenty for the family!

My wife isn't much into Rolex even she got a couple.

Yesterday, I watched a Netflix documentary in which they showed a married couple, the wife was an obsessive shopper and the husband was an obessive hoarder, their home was a mess! Maybe sometimes it's good that your wife are not into it too.

Mine isn't into them either. Never wears a watch but lately I've noticed her giving the ladies lineup the stinkeye, and I think she's feeling the itch. There's a few she has mentioned casually that she likes. Gonna get her a pre-owned a little later down the road and see if she actually wears it. She knows I'm about to blow a wad on a DDII within the next year so I think she wants some wrist candy too.....

My girl has got the bug hard. Should make my future purchases even easier. Since she makes 4 times more a month than I do buying her her first Rolex (35mm YM) should pay off for me in the future!

I will say, The ones she most most attracted to were YM WG, YM TT, datejust blue dial with Roman numerals, and the infamous day date.

She told me she was just humoring the salesperson, I bet if we won the lottery and had some more watch money she would be singing a different tune!!

AS THE WORLD TURNS, we will see!

Thanks for all the advice and insight.!

Getting the wife into watches is a dangerous thing. They're supposed to be addicted to bags, clothes, shoes. Not watches on top of that. That's just too expensive for us.
Mine has already started:
"I want that Rolex."
"The one with the diamond dial"
And of course the diamond bezel"
etc, etc.....

Better get her addicted to some house cleaning, and some dinner making as well....

You have to ask yourself, is that what you REALLY want??? A wife who has the same watch addiction??? Be careful what you ask for, it can get costly!!! I'm speaking from first hand experience, not a wife, but a GF.

Um. I didn't mean that in a derogatory fashion. But I can see how that may have been interpreted that way.
