Forgive me, I'm after a Nato strap for my 116610LV and don't really know much about technical spec etc... I would really appreciate it if somebody could give me more info on nato's and a link where to buy them from of the net. This one came from Convus in the US... This is an 18mm RAF strap for authenticity. 20mm is the correct size for your LV.

Well I had to learn the hard way, I purchased a strap over ebay and it showed up fine. 20mm on my 16800 Sub.
I also used a place called strapcode.com, DP turned me onto that place and they did a great job but it came from overseas so I ended up spending just as much on shipping as the strap. I am looking myself right now for a strap for my 14060m. I briefly owned a LV C so I know a 20mm will work but maybe a 22mm would look better. Someone with a NATO on the new case would have to chime in there. Come on TRF more info needed!!!!!!!!!!

Timefactors.com
Really comfortable compared to most NATO straps and dirt-cheap shipping from the UK.

You could also try Countycomm.com, westcoasttime.com, or google Maratac. The two above are US (California) based stores. I've had good experiences with them. Good luck, Ji |

Is there much diffence in quality and feel between the eBay el-cheapo NATOs you an buy for $5 each in bulk, and the quality ones from these more expensive makers?

There are plenty of UK-based sellers, but it depends what you're looking for. MoD-spec' straps are heat sealed whereas others may be stitched. There is also the option of an Admiralty strap from Rolex UK (though I believe they have to be purchased in person or via an AD) which meets MoD standards. I have one that was given to me by a regular when I was in the TA in the early eighties that I still use.
Good luck with it. |

Yes, the cheap ones are very thin and usually have sewn seams. I have bought NATOs from at least 10 different makers. The best ones I have found are thick, comfortable and have heat-welded seams. My favorites are from Timefactors (reasonably priced and cheap shipping) and Squinky on the bay (overpriced but very nice). The Admiralty gray ones issued to the MOD are available from Silverman's in the UK if you don't want to pay Rolex prices. They are not as thick, comfortable or adjustable (fewer holes) as some of the others.

as stated, the Maratac brand is good quality, reasonably priced and extremely durable. I have bought several from them and have never had a complaint.

Along these lines: are Nato straps made in 19mm size? (I haven't been able to find any from a cursory internet search).
If they don't make 19mm Nato, would you all recommend buying the 18 or 20mm? |

I just got my first Nato about 3 days ago. I am very happy with it and I think it is extremely comfortable. I bought mine from broadarrow. It is a 20mm Maratac

Maratacs are my favorite, and I have about 75 NATO straps. I really do need to try timefactors though.

I've noticed most reputable local watchmakers will always have a few NATOs on-hand. I suggest going down the street if you get the chance.
