I am in shock! Never expected this to happen. It is a Z serial and I have had it about five years. Plan to take it to a local watchmaker.

Just wondering if anyone wants to take a wild guess at what the problem might be?

It could be a multitude of things Mark...Without knowing the circumstance!?!?!

A few days ago, I took it off the winder and it was dead. I wound it and all was fine, but the same thing happened again today. It died on my arm a few hours ago.

I will be taking it to the watchmaker in the morning. Maybe it will be something simple.

I had a similar problem with my Sub. Watchmaker fixed it in about 20 minutes.

The same thing happened to a friend's mid-sized YM. It would work after being wound but only for a while before stopping. Turned out to be a broken mainspring (I think).

Good luck, hope it's nothing too serious.

Sounds like the auto-wind module..

Should be an easy fix....

Same thing just happened to my Sub C (a whopping 3 days old), so now it's in the service center. I've asked that they replace the entire movement. We'll see how that goes! You'd think they would, as I am a loyal Rolex guy, but not convinced they will! Either way, hope it all works out on yours as well!

Maybe it's a mexican version, I've heard they stop working very often.

Just let a watchmaker take a look at it, I'm sure it's a easy fix.

I think it is the flux capacitor. Just add 1.21 gigawat's of power and it should start running again.

On a serious note...I hope it is nothing to major. Let us know once you get it repaired.

flux capacitor, the battery, or the watch's soul has been lost. Either of the three and unfortunately your dealing with a difficult situation.

That is super fast service it's safe to assume you did not send it to Rolex but even my AD can't turn a service faster than four weeks. Good for you I'm glad it's fixed and running well again.

They take your cash and then take their time.

What does hearing the main spring unwind sound like? Or are you being sarcastic?

Just to be clear - it is not fixed yet. The $800 is the estimate. He said it will be two or three weeks.

When it unwinds suddenly it makes a quick zip sound, almost like its slipping. I would also hear that sound when winding the watch manually.
