Busted!!!!!!!!
I went to a meeting today and I get in the elevator and standing next to me is the President and CEO of First Hawaiian Bank I see on his wrist a sweet AP but I cannot tell which model. He keeps moving his wrist and I am trying to get a look then I look up and he is staring at me like WTF are you looking at.
I was so busted I just said sorry I'm a watch nut and I was just trying to get a look at your watch I noticed it was an AP and it's very nice. He is not a WIS but he took it off and let me look at it, it was an Royal Oak on a strap. He said he liked my Sea-Dweller.

Cool, sounds like it went just fine. Most people WIS or not, appreciate compliments.

Nice. If he said he liked your sd by name I'd say he's a wis, did he?

I used to work at a country club (service staff) and was constantly looking at the members wrists. Tried bringing up their pieces briefly but no one really seemed to know what I was saying when I referred to the watches by model.
Just got that 'Oh no, this is a Rolex' line most of the time. |

People don't wear watches like that to tell time, they wear them to be noticed- so admiring a fine watch is not a sin or anything to be embarrassed about. :)
Best thing to do now is do some research on that watch so you have something to share the next time you see him in the elevator! |
