Maxi Dials
History of the Maxi MK dials."The dials were originally designed for the British Military Submariners 5513, and 5517, the leftovers were used on civilian 5513 Submariners from 1974 to 1984. The lume plots are larger than the previous generation of 5513 dials, also the depth rating and SUBMARINER lettering are bolder as well as the fonts have changed. Their are five distinct dial variations for the Maxi dials, the dials are identified as: MK I, MK II, MK III, MK IV, MK V."

History of the MK IIIRolex Maxi MK III "Is nicknamed "lollypop" (or "lolly-pop"). This nickname comes from the largest lume plots proportionally and the long five minute tick marks. These two elements make up a "lollypop" and the Maxi MK III has become very distinct from all other Maxi MK dials." |

The only one that truly deserves the Maxi Dial knickname, with much largest lume plots than the Lolypop dial. And only produced for about one year, in 1978. And when Rolex re introduced the Maxi lume plots on the Yacht Master, than on the LV Sub and now on every new sport model , one can notice that they are exactly the same size than those the Maxi I featured.  Maxi I 5513 beside the new GMT and the LV:
