Would u notice a watch is "balla"

hey guys...

i know you're all watch guys... but if you werent.... and were just an ordinary guy/girl

would u notice if a watch was balla or not?

I havent worn my rolex in a long time... i've been wearing my Lange instead (leather strap). and.... for the last week i've been wearing the plat Day-date. It honestly is super shiny when i flash it against the sun... i can see the markings and they look awesome... but my question is...

Would u notice if a watch was expensive if u couldnt see it from upclose?

I could certainly tell if it looked expensive, but there are plenty of convincing fakes out there!

I'll admit, for the most part, I couldn't.

My AD showed me some brand I'd never heard of when I got my GMTII. It had a leather strap and had a little moon dial on it.

I'M SORRY, but the little dial, no matter what it is on, screams Fossil. He could have given me the $4k watch, and I'd never wear it.

But, for the most part, I do know that if it has an exotic name, and I can see that along with some nice quality workmanship, then I'd know it wasn't your run of the mill watch.

To be honest, I believe that "ordinary guys and girls don't give a sh** what watch a person is wearing, let alone what it might cost.

I've worn a Rolex for decades..

Most folks don't even recognize that if they can't read the dial, unless of course, it's a fellow enthusiast.

I can't imagine most would recognize any higher dollar piece with less name recognition.

As I said, most folks can't recognize a high dollar watch and wouldn't know a Patek from a Gruen Curvex in a pile of watches....except a fellow enthusiast.
