Rolex Maintenance Question

Just a question on maintenance and potential costs down the line...If you religiously service your Rolex every 4-6 years what other parts are most likely to be worn out and will need to be replaced? I assume the seals are the shortest living items that will need to be replaced. Which parts could technically last a lifetime (or really long time) if they are serviced and oiled religiously? Sorry if this has been asked in another thread.

I seem to wear out the SS Oyster bracelets in 5 or 6 years. I've got an EXP II on my wrist right now that I wear daily,("F" 2004) and it's got a lot of stretch to it. It's got worn pins & bores, plus the little thin rivet that goes all the way through the last link & fliplock is almost worn through. A jeweler here in town can cut it out, re-drill the link & clasp and put in an oversized rivet for $100 bucks. It's my second EXP II, the first one went even quicker. For SS, I think it's soft for machining purposes, not long life.

Bracelets will actually last a real long time. As long as they are worn properly and cleaned regularly. The stretch or wear occurs when grit and dirt are allowed to grind into the holes and make them larger.

Gaskets, stems, spring bars, and crowns do wear out.

However for a complete list we might want to wait on somebody with a little bit more experience than myself.

I'm not sure I understand the question...

If you maintain and service the watch regularly, the only thing left to wear is the bracelet.. They start to show their age at around 10 years, although I have some close to 20 years old that look very good..

Mostly Gasket then lube are the basics...then they call you for estimate for other things that they see that needs to be changed...sometimes they ask you to change 2nd hands..crystal and other stuff even if you only see it by using a loupe...on sports models they will tell you to replace bezels with small scratches only seen by loupe lol

been seeing a few comments about bracelet wear....i don't understand?

i wore my TT Sub for literally 20 years 24 hours a day and 7 days a week. during work and play and showering and swimming and travel adventures and 100000 miles of motorcycling etc.

only then did i decide to replace the bracelet.

i have a friend with the exact same watch about 3 years older than mine... i ran into him the other day and he still has his original bracelet.... i have never seen him take his watch off either

hate it when they do that! crummy business toward the interest of the customer who has supported them.

I figure a jubilee is easily good for 20 years+ of daily wear. I've got a 50 year old jubilee that isn't worn daily anymore, but it's still being used.
