FS: Girard Perregaux Ferrari F300
For sale is a NM Girard Perregaux Ferrari F300. The condition is near mint with just a couple hairlines on the beautifully finished case and bracelet. It come with outer cardboard, inner red lacquered wood box, instruction book, and catalog. I think the B&P was meant to go along with a different GP Ferrari model and was mixed up when sold. The red lacquered box is one of the best watch boxes I've seen.
The GP F300 is in a 38mm x 13mm SS case with a satin finish, water resistant to 30 meters. The stunning black carbon fiber dial has brightly lumed Arabic numerals and quickset date at four. This watch has a sapphire crystal and a signed non-screw down crown. The GP cal 2280 automatic movement is based on the ETA 2892, and the chronograph zeros and functions precisely. This a a great watch from an elite manufacture, and here's the origin story: "Both Girard-Perregaux and Ferrari are names synonymous with luxury, and the combination is as successful as peanut butter and chocolate! It all began by chance while Luigi Macaluso (president of Girard-Perregaux) was having a friendly lunch with Luca Cordero di Montezemelo and Piero Ferrari, when the idea of doing something together came up. In 1994 they launched the split seconds tribute to Ferrari and by 1995 there was an entire chronograph collection. The following year, they produced the Girard Perregaux pour Ferrari F50, then the Lady F and in 1999 The SF Foudroyante to commemorate the 70th anniversary of the founding of the Ferrari racing stable. Inspired by a pocket watch movement from 1880, the Foudroyante is a split seconds chronograph with a jumping seconds mechanism. It is capable of calculating intervals of time down to 1/8 of a second. The similarities between both companies were astonishing. They are both committed to the highest levels of quality, authenticity and creativity. They also pay meticulous attention to every tiny detail, which is probably what sets Ferrari and Girard Perregaux apart from many other manufactories." I have excellent references from several forums. Free UPS or FedEx overnight shipping is included. Asking $1700 OBO. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() |
