GMT Rootbeer on Strap for a Change!!!

This weekend I finally came to realize that I cannot stand the jubilee bracelet on my GMT Rootbeer 16753. Since I don't want to part with my watch I decided to get a nylon strap to match the faded bezel until I can get a TT Oyster bracelet to replace the jubilee. After checking with Rolex NYC I almost fainted after hearing they want $2750 (no bracelet trade-in price) for a brand new 78363. Now, if I trade-in my jubilee they are going to be generous enough to bring the price down to $2250. Can you guys believe it?

Here are some pics so you can see what it looks like with the strap. Let me know your thoughts.

I'm not a very big fan of NATO's but this combo looks great indeed!

May I ask if you thought about a brown leather band as well? I'm sure it would look nice too!

Thanks for the idea. If I can find a nice rugged brown supple leather 'a la Panerai' type of strap I might for that in the meantime!

That is a perfect match. Looks real cool. I normally don't like straps on rolexes but that looks good.

Very nice indeed.

I was considering a Rootbeer GMT before I bought my 16750 and I like the look of them on brown leather as it towns down the bling of the TT but that beige NATO looks fantastic. I would wear it like that every day of the week. What a great point of difference from the normal TT GMTs you see around! I think you have nailed it with that look but if you want to dress it up for formal put it on a brown crock leather with a pre-owned gold Rolex buckle.

Regards,

Zac

per another post in this thread, toshi makes a GREAT strap (i have two), but, IMO, not really known for the "rugged brown" style you mentioned.

contact this guy or this guy or this guy and tell them what you are looking for. if they can't hook you up, no one can.

if you get it, definitely post pix, please. would be interesting to see.

I love the look of the jubilee band myself... not sure why you don't like it. Does it bite you or just feel tight?

Seems you have no choice but to sell it to me!!!

I just purchased a Root Beer and was looking for a nice nato strap. Any thoughts on how this would look or should I stick with a solid color like Submarino's.
