Cracked the Bezel Pearl on my Sub 116610
Somehow the pearl on my ceramic Sub cracked !?!
The watch is only 4 months old so this is a total bummer. I was worried that somthing like this would happen. I did a quick search here on the forum and it looks like this is going to cost me a few dollars to get fixed at the RSC. It is unfortunate that the pearl alone can't be replaced. Of course I’m going to be OCD about the crack and it will drive me crazy. At this moment I'm missing the simplicity of my old 16610. -Arron

Sorry to hear this
Take it to the RSC and they may fix it without charge, being such a new watch and early in the warranty period Good luck, hope it is quickly resolved

I'll walk in and see them when I get back to Hong Kong. I'm in the States now so it will be a week or so till I can chat with them.
But from several treads here it looks like this is not covered under warranty.

If the cracks aren't readily noticeable and it doesn't bug you too much, then maybe leave it until you send the watch in for a service in 5 yrs time

If purchased through an AD check and see if they can be of any assistance. It's worth a shot even though it really isn't something the warranty would cover.

New and improved is not always better. Sometimes old and proven is the best product.

"new and improved" for the guy that can now charge $600 for something that used to be a minor repair ($100)... this is the result of our economy that was booming, it seemed like a good idea at the time

Here is an image of the crack. Taken with my phone so it is not the best quality.

Might be better if it just "fell out" altogether?
From a warranty perspective a loose pearl falling out would indicate a defective bezel...

Yes cracks did happen on the old bezel inserts as well but it was fixable for about $100 USD. I still need to take the sub to RSC and find out how much this will cost to fix. Hopefully next week.

Best of luck with that. I'm sure they aren't cheap (like most things with this brand / hobby). I carry no a deductible insurance policy on all my watches for this very reason. If anything happens, I'm covered no matter what. Hope it works out as inexpensively as possible for you.

Theses watches are not tools anymore.... You have to pay more than 6 hundred dollars because the pearl is cracked? My 16610 won't leave me.... I I have to change the insert, it will cost me about 60 dollars.... And I can dot it myself if I want, this is not possible with the new Sub.

All you'd need would be a nice "old" bezel IF fit was fine... IMHO 5-600 $ is way too much to spend just because of the pearl...and then WHAT IF... Sooner or later down the road the bezel pearl gets involved in another accident ? I do own one of these myself (LV) so I can relate to your concern... Good Luck !

UPDATE:
With only a little time left on my warrant I finally took my Sub to the Hong Kong Rolex service center. They were very nice and after inspecting the watch they replaced the pearl free of charge..... Happy endings! But I still worry about the durability of the new Sub’s ceramic bezel. I tend to wear my 1680 most of the time as I trust it to hold up better to daily use.

Still, I wonder how they managed to replace the pearl since according to this info below, the bezel pearl in the ceramic bezel inserts is a "non removable setting".
