The Deep-Sea Sea Dweller
So Sunday, my wife and I we were at the AD where we bought her DJ to get 1 more link removed....naturally I needed to peruse the selection...
And then I see it...the man-watch of all man-watches....the DSSD. Now I've seen a few pics, I've read the threads about "Can I really where this with a dress shirt", I've read all about it on the website, but I've never been in the presence of the DSSD. I've thought, "Aah, what's the big deal...big honkin' watch, big deal...such crazy rediculous overkill..." All I can say is "Wow." I think I'm smitten...this thing is a watch, a real watch. Such rediculously AWESOME overkill. Way overkill for my much needed weekend "adventure" watch, but dang, I really really need this thing. One way or another, someday, I will have one to call my own. The salesman, who happened to be a watchmaker/repair guy/WIS started chatting with me about all sorts of watches and all in all, I'm even more of a fan of this jewelry store. Fantastic salespeople, and now I know a WIS works there...very cool. So not really a thread about anything other than my new found goal: Deep Sea - Sea Dweller... |

Just had that happen as well. Holding out for another month to get the DSSD now instead of a SubC.
Here are some great pics from Puffy. http://www.rolexforums.com/showthrea...=218696&page=2

Thanks for the pics, guys. Fricken awesome watch....what more can you say...
I think I fell in love with the heft of the piece - the look is classic submariner, so that goes without saying. But the weight is just awesome. It feels like a watch ought to feel...nothing "Mamby pamby" about it, that's for sure! Someday.......... :) |

Love my DSSD. Fits nice on my 7 3/4 inch wrist. I have no problem wearing this watch with dress shirts.

Really a beauty!
It seems that most AD's in Brussels and a few others in Belgium have these in stock.
Funny thing is that, for the moment, they seem to be slightly more available than Sub C's. If I didn't already have an Aquatimer, I'd certainly consider getting one. |

The DSSD is such a polarizing piece. I wasn't aware of this phenomenon at the time, but the first time I saw one in person, I had to have it. It's not for everyone, but for those of us who get it, it's a truly magnificent machine.

Just got mine back....if you are feeling the way you do about the DSSD it'll haunt you until you get one. Fantastic feeling to have one on ....Plently of other great models out there but this is special....no doubt about it.
