Was the older ST carburated? The newer fuel injection is sweet. Especially with some pipes and a computer flash.
Congrats on the new ride.
we will require some pics.

thanks guys! yep the 2003 std was carburated. so the fuel injection is very different. no warm up and o2 sensors in exhaust to close the loop with the cpu and adjust as it changes. pretty cool..

Congrats on the new bike! Do you still have the 03? My dad has a gorgeous 03' Road King Classic! Look at those pearly white walls!

A set of V&H Longshots would fit that bike beautifully. IMO.

Looks very nice. They have made some changes to the Softail since I bought the first year 1984 model.

Enjoy the new ride.

Man that's sharp!!!! Never been a motorcycle fan since I crashed one in high school but I love Harley's. I'm still not comfortable riding them but maybe I'll give it a shot again in the future.

i can understand that.. but i really find some peace while riding one. you are concentrating so intently on what you are doing and who is around you it is very zen. nothing else enters your mind.. if it does, that is when things can happen that one does not want to happen. hope you give it a try again, you can rent harleys for a weekend or so. see if it "fits" for you and your life now before you buy.

thanks again!

I traded in my 03 Deuce last year for a 2011 Heritage. Thought about the Deluxe, but decided the saddlebags would be too small for my needs. Enjoy!!

Beautiful bike!!! My Lodge buddy has one like it. I'd suggest losing the passenger pad, you'll be surprised at how much nicer it will look.

I wrecked a 450cc dirt bike in a field going way too fast in a muddy pasture jumping corn rows. I know a Harley is safer than that. I truly do love them. I'm sure one day I might start riding. I could get comfortable on one very quickly I honestly have only been on a bike once since my accident. It wasn't that bad just dislocated my arm and had to have surgery. Again beautiful Harley. If u can throw up some pics of your cruises.

yep.. just a bit safer.. but while jumping corn you do not have to look out for that driver that stares RIGHT AT YOU and still decides to pull out. so.... this model, the deluxe has the lowest seat height on stock harley. about 24.5" off ground. so very stable at stops. nice center of gravity too as the seat positions you a bit differently than say a, fat boy or heritage. anyway.. hope you give it a shot one day, again. renting for a weekend is a great idea too. thanks again.
