What model do I have??

Hello,

How do I find a model # or determine what model I have. I received this watch a few months back and I'm not sure what I have or even if it's real?

Tnx

Remove the bracelet at the 6 o`clock position to determine serial number and at the 12 o`clock position for the model number, they will be found engraved on the case.

Thanks for the info. As you can see from the picture below the area appears either ground off or never finished? It's the same on both ends. Do you suppose it is a good indication of a knockoff??

Whenever I see a scratched off serial number, which isn't often, my first thought is: stolen.

Sometimes the number gets worn down over time from the movement of the end link against the case. However, yours looks intentionally ground off, which would make me worry more about it being stolen than about it being fake.

Hope it turns out ok for you.

Another reason why Rolex went to the engraved rehaut, I assume.

16013 if its real. Based on the serial number being rubbed off it may be real, previously stolen, and/or sold as used by an unauthorized person? Weird

Hey Gina, where in BC are you? If in Vancouver, take it to Otto's in Hotel Vancouver. They can authenticate.

The watch is a bad fake my friend. Magnification is incorrect. Font and Size of the Superlative Chronometer is in correct. Coronet is incorrect. Rolex font and position is wrong. Case back looks incorrect. Font of the 4 is crocked and incorrect!

After further inspection I think I agree with everything you said. I went and pulled it up on my office computer with a 26" monitor. I see a ton of flaws.

Isn't there a small decal (oval, gold color) 'Made in China' on the back ?
Have someone open it for you and see what the movement says . . .
Good luck !

I also do not believe this to be authentic. The dial for sure is not authentic Rolex and since the serial is either not there or has been intentionally removed this would lead to me to believe this is not an authentic piece. Of course the only way to know for sure is to pop the case back off

No, it is not an authentic 12,000 dollar Rolex watch...

But I'm pretty sure that you knew that already...

Okay, I'm convinced especially after I removed the strap. Oh well, at least I didn't have too much in it. On a brighter note, I've been wearing it for a few months and it keeps great time, looks good too. Untrained eyes (like mine) can't tell the difference

Thanks for all your input.

Oh Mr. Bill, you're so strict.

I agree. Gina is a newbie around here so we have to state what is the obvious to a lot of us here:

Gina, if you come back(and I hope you do) understand the prima principle, the sine qua non of TRF:

Thou Shalt Not Own Nor Extoll The Virtues Of A Fake Rolex !

Well I wouldn't want to go against principles so the watch is now delegated to a drawer where it is out of sight. Maybe I'll swap it back to the previous owner for a nice pair of binoculars that he's trying to sell .
On another note, for future reference, how does one 'Pop the back cover' without scratching it up

My guess is to go to a jewelry store and get them to open the case back. They should then be able to tell you what is inside.
