Can The WG Sub 116619 compete Audemars Piguet RO Offshore?

W/ about the same range of price, I wonder how could the Sub 116619 Blue WG compete with the AP RO Offshore? Is it worth to get the blue sub instead of the AP RO. How's the resale value in the future?

Yes.
It's a personal choice though.
I'm sure you can look at the grey market and see what the resale value would be like.

So long you get a good discount on both, neither will really out perform the other as far as resale is concerned. I like both watches, but got the ROO first and don't regret that decision at all.

U rite, it's just a personal choice. FYI: I got 2 subs (Kermit and Hulk) already; hence, I've been thinking that AP ROO is my next one, but (still) the blue sub still knock on my heart.......Hm, guess I need more time to decide.

That's what I thought at first, AP = the first choice. Well, I think I have to look at both side by side in flesh (again) to decide.

As long as you are talking standard not LE ROO's--yes. I personally would take the WG Sub over a standard ROO. With that said--I enjoy the merits of owning both and they make great bunkmates!

Both are fantastic watches, but I would pick the ROO next as you already have 2 great subs. The ROO would give you a totally different look.

Well most precious metal watches don't hold there bought prices if bought at retail as well as the S.Steel.Would have thought the Sub would hold its price better than any RO myself not a huge fan of any precious metal watch. And again not a fan of the RO range great movements but just don't like any of the RO style.

Can't go wrong with either one, And as others already said as long you get a nice discount you are all good.

The AP RO is a stunning piece, very comparable in size to the Sub. The ROO is just too big & thick IMO. I am not a fan of WG as I have posted many times. I would suggest this...

Two totally different timpieces, which will serve different purposes. I may be in the minority saying I prefer my ROO over my WG Sub, however, I will let you decide with these pics!

But still, I need some fairly advises about this two, from someone who's neither big fan of Rolex nor AP.

I am not a fan of WG nor does the current blue warm up to me so I would go with a ROO and look for one preowned thereby resale wont be an issue. And as already noted, you have two Rolex so a little variety may be appealing to you?

I think most on this board are big fans of Rolex. Ultimately, you cannot go wrong with either one, they are both incredible. You need to decide which one you prefer. Have you tried both of them on?

Padi is correct in stating that precious metal Rolexes dont hold their value like their SS brethren. However, this can be negated buy getting a good discount off MSRP, which is relatively easy to negotiate on both watches. However, and please dont take this personally, I feel like we in the online watch community obsess too much over resale values. Buy a watch because you love it (especially at this price point) and since you'll not want to sell, resale value becomes moot. Ultimately it doesnt matter which one you get first, because in time you'll have both. Just my $0.02.

Then by all means, get the smurf. I promise you won't be disappointed. I wanted to add a blue watch to my collection so I got the ROO navy which is similar to the safari you are thinking about.

Very true and no problem. I know you said you have already tried some models on and that is the best way to get a feel for what you want, however, if you haven't already check out the AP Sub forum for Hal's, Thomas and many of the other great members photos! If you're confused now you will love your mind there!

What about me Sam? Just to throw a bit more confusion at you. Not all ROO's are created equally-but all are nice!

Unless it is discontinued Rolex 16610LV/16610 or 16600 SD, I usually prefer AP over Rolex, but the blue white gold Sub gets my vote this time. It is a stunning watch. I love the heft and the pop factor. It is a fantastic watch.
