How come Australia is always the first country to get the new Rolex/Tudor

Well I saw the post of the new Tudor release in Aussie land
And the new ND Sub was also posted already as released in Australia
Is there a reason for that?
I love Australia and that just gives me another great reason to come visit

Let me try to explain. The earths rotaional velocity is 1,674.4 km/h while maintaining a 23.4° tilt away from the perpendicular of its orbital plane. Approximately 3.8 billion years ago during a shift in the tectonic plates the earth ah ..... ah ....... they just do ....

It only seems that way due to us being 15 hours in front..... oh and because we pay the most for watches (and everything else actually).

Yeah, that's what I thought. Something to do with the fact that their toilets flush in the wrong direction. That and Koala bears.

Rolex always releases their watches to countries in alphabetical order. Albania gets theirs before Australia, but there are not Albanian members on TRF.

A few years ago, I emailed Rolex and asked them do to this

As a joke, I also asked them to ensure we paid an extra-high price, but that backfired and they took it seriously... sorry guys

Yup, No Date Subc is here. Just saw one in Cairns AD. They also have the Tudor Black Bay and the Polished Bezel Datejust II.

Cheers!

Because we get crap choice on most things and pay WAY to MUCH. I chuckled this morning, the paper had demonstrator deals on the Ranger Rover Evoque, a car that supposedly was starting at 60K, for just $108,000! (i.e same or more to US$ given day of week currency rate). That is for the baby range rover, that will explain why Rolex can launch and charge 20-30% more in Australia. Our country was formed by convict criminals, now all the criminals are the companies who sell here!

Although I agree that the RRP's on Rolex's are significantly more expensive here in Australia, with astute bargaining and being patient on looking around for a good deal, you can get them for prices similar or close to the trusted sellers here. I bought my brand new SS Daytona locally here for less than $11k (grey market) in March this year, ditto my new GMT-II c and Milgauss GV for < $6500 and my Everose Daytona at an AD for less than 5% more than what trusted sellers here were selling for, so prices, after negotiating, are not too dissimilar to the US in my limited experiences so far. And for pre-owned watches too, bargains can def be found if you are patient.

We (Aussie) were also the first country to get the Omega Planet Ocean 9300 models last year.

Is it true that they ship it out in alphabetical order?

My thinking was that it is because we are the furthest country away from Europe, we are the first that they ship to, so that by the time it reaches our shores, closer countries like USA and Asia, who get allocations a little bit later, would get theirs arriving around about the the same time due to shorter shipping transit times...

You can thank our wonderful government and that redhead prime minister for that. Luxury Car Tax, Import duties, GST and every other tax that we have in Australia (and soon a new carbon tax) is what jacks our prices up so that our goods and services are all way much more expensive than other countries.

Including watches.
