Submariner S/S Bracelet noisy end pieces.
Hello,
This is my first post and I'd be grateful for some assistance. I have a 16610 Sub which makes a "clinking" noise when I wear the watch. I have isolated the noise to the bracelet end pieces which are marked with the number 501B. Can anyone tell me how to eliminate this clicking sound? Thanks in advance. |

Just give whole watch a wash in good old soap and water just make sure the crown is screwed down just finger tight that could cure it.

My SD (16600, U serial #) has been clicking since I purchased it. The clicking, when you move your wrist, lets you know that the bracelet is working as designed!

People may get a bit weary of what Im about to say. I just put a newer 93150 on my red and noticed a clangy sound from the 12 o clock end, not both.
I took it off and bent the ends at the bottom SLIGHTLY so it fit the case a SLIGHT bit better. Where the pin goes into the two loops, I pushed it SLIGHTLY with a pair of pliers so the spring bar goes in a bit tighter. Quiet as the breeze now |

If the bracelet is too loose, replace the pins. This should do it.

You are aware of the fact that your watch is made of metal. Any time metals touches metal it is going to make some noise. Go into the kitchen and rub two knives together. I think it will make a noise every time. Now if you are hearing the noise and you don't have the watch on then you may have a real problem. Just enjoy your watch.

Also, if your watch is brand new, it is typical of it to make that noise. Both my Rolexes made that noise brand new, after a couple of good washes with soap, the sound was completely gone! Give it a try! |
