Trade thoughts

Thinking about trading out my SS Daytona 116520 for a mint Sea Dweller. I just don't like the bling of the polished pieces and not having a date. All thoughts and comments are appreciated. What is realistic for my watch for the SD and the additional cash to make a fair transaction for both parties? Thanks.

Trade it... You have to get a good $4k IMO.

Keep the Daytona and save up, you'll only regret it!
In answer to your question go to any pre owned website and see the difference for yourself.

do it, no regrets!

$$$ back to you depending on condition of each and series of SD, as the later series seem to be fetching higher amounts recently.

i did the same swap a year ago

Make the trade. Daytona's aren't for everyone, and they are certainly dressy looking.

I love Daytona's, but that would be a great trade IMO.

Update on trade thoughts

Considering a DeepSea for an even trade over a M series classic with a little cash difference (seems a little on low side at $2k). Thoughts? I have tried the Deepsea and the size difference is not a big deal.

For me...trade.
If it was white...it'd be harder decision for me....
Plus 4k is nice...

On a private trade for a very late model SD, you should be getting around $4k cash out of the deal.

I don't know if I would make the deal, but for the reasons you're stating, I understand your position. I'd say a minimum of 3K difference, depending on condition of both watches...

Good luck!

Umm... no. The Daytona is a mean watch. The SD is not worth the Daytona. I would get 3-4K back. Then maybe I'd consider it.

Or better yet, let me source an SD and then I'll trade with you - even trade.. bwahaha.... JK!

I'd make sure you really want to get rid of the Daytona before letting it go. It seems like a piece that returns to those who sell it.

I wouldn't trade a Daytona for SD... but depend on condition, you should get about 4-5k back.

Sounds like you really want to trade so do it.

Personally I would keep the Daytona and save for the Sea Dweller

i absolutely would not make this trade. the two watches are extreme night and day. the size difference alone, is enormous.

if i were you and i wanted to get rid of the bling, the farthest, i would go is maybe to a subC or a GMTIIC with brushed center links.

Smooth and easy transaction with fellow Tarheel TRF member KangerRolex. Love my new SD!

I'm with u on the date. About the only watch I could ever manage to have without a date would be panerai. Other than that I need it

I did the same thing. Got rid of my Daytona and kept my Seadweller. I use the date and don't use the chronograph function. Not big on PCL's. For me, it was an easy choice.

Big congrats!

sell the Daytona, buy a Speedmaster and Seadweller.

EDIT: oops, see you've already done a deal, congrats.
