8 diamond face mens rolex

i recently bought a mens two tone datejust oyster band rolex. The company stated that it was made in new york. Like to know more info about it. I couldn't get much info. Nothing much on the internet. The diamonds are on the 1,2, 4, 5, 7, 8, 10, 11 hand. thanks for any information on it.

Welcome to the forum

Some pictures would be helpful, but if it was stated it was made in New York, something sounds amiss....

Well it sounds like it may be a aftermarket dial not Rolex made if so you could have a problem if watch was sent for service by Rolex themselves but independents would service it.

I'm afraid that your pictures aren't good enough to say much...

In any event, no Rolex watches are made in New York, they are all made in Geneva, Switzerland.

If you bought through a reliable seller, you shouldn't have any serious concerns..

My DJ gains 4s/day. My subC loses 1s/day.

As long as it's within -4s to +6s per day, you're good

Thanks for the +/- info but I like more info about a 8 diamond face. Is it a rare face, did they make a lot if them. What year was this model made in, etc.

You really need to post better pictures so that the experts here can get a good look at the watch.

Otherwise, no one's going to be able to make an accurate assessment.

Just post some decent pictures. If you decide to post the serial number, most members prefer to not post the complete number.

It sounds to me that the OP is looking for verification of the watch he has purchased.

I suggest the post be transferred to the "Watchout!!!" section so the members who specialize in identification and authenticity can check it over.

More and better pictures will be required.

Mikey,

DateJust with diamond markers aren't rare at all. If you really need to know more about your watch, remove the bracelet from the watch head and tell us what numbers are engraved between the lugs at 12:00 as well as 6:00. The number between the lugs at 12:00 is the reference number, and the number at 6:00 is the serial number. For security purposes, people often list the number at 6:00 as 12345xxx with xxx for the last two or three digits.

$2800 for a two-tone DateJust is a fair price.

I think it is likely that your dial is aftermarket modified

I like a datejust with an oyster bracelet..you picked a good watch..

The dial is aftermarket or custom made (sic) and honestly does not
do much for the overall look of an otherwise very nice watch.

I think a modern Rolex dial for this watch will enhance its looks.

Based on production year the case parts should be 14kt. The serial number on the bracelet will help I D it's gold quality.

The dial was most likely a baton marker dial with tritium. 8 batons were removed and replaced with diamonds set on white gold (but we can't verify if it's actually WG, since no one knows the history of this watch).
