Newbie hulk question

Must admit, have never paid much attention to Rolex but the hulk has my attention and has made me appreciate Rolex. It appeals to me and am thinking of making it my first Rolex. I see the product number as 116610LV but I see c series and g series and frankly I am not sure to what the series refers. If I get one I would like to make sure I am getting the correct one. I thought read somewhere that the hulk case was a little narrower then previous sub versions but what do I know?
Any help making sure I understand the which version I should be looking for appreciated. I know I can go to AD but would like to have option to buy here.
Thanks

What you are looking for is reference 116610LV. Serial number is irrelevant.
Ceramic Sub Date - Green.
Great choice btw!

"C" usually stands for "ceramic", meaning that the watch has a ceramic insert in the rotating bezel.
All "hulk"s (a sub with green dial and bezel) have a ceramic insert. Therefore every "hulk" is a Sub C (this is how usually people refers to the 116610 here on the forums).

As for the serial number, that does not matter.

Welcome to the forum!... Well the numerical and alphabetical "series" that you are referring to is the serial number for that specific watch. As for the size of the case, they are both considered a 40mm's but the newer models like the 116610V and 116610LN has thicker lugs then the original sub case. Hope that helps.

Just to clarify for OP, the number is irrelevant because a couple of years back Rolex switched to a random sequence.

As far as the LVc goes, it's a great watch! I thoroughly enjoy and appreciate mine. If it happens for you, post some pix!

You picked a great watch for your first. I wear the hulk as my daily wearer right now.
The others have explained the rest. Good luck with your search.

A random serial number is slightly newer than a G-serial. Does that matter... no, not really.

Great choice.

Every 116610LV on the market right now will be a G serial# or random serial#.You can't go wrong with the "Hulk".

I love mine.
