Did I just bought a fake Rolex? Please Help

Dear All,

I just bought a brand new rolex submariner 114060 and I removed the bracelet to check the serial number.

I was a little shock to see that there's no serial number engraved on the 6 o'clock position between the lugs. It just wrote there STAINLESS STEEL but there's no serial number below it. Could this be a fake or am I missing something? Did the 2013 submariner #114060 come without a serial number between the lugs on 6 oclock? I'm really worried now.

I'll attached herewith a photo of it.

Who did you buy it from and why were they selling it?

For the new ceramics, I beleive the serial # is on the inner rehaut rather
than between the lugs. I think you are ok.... wherre did you buy it from?

Looks like the serial number is on the Rehault (inner metal ring under glass) see it?

Serial number is not between the lugs...it's engraved on the rehault.

.

For all random and G series, the s/n is no more engraved between lugs at 6. It's now only on the rehaut. A model 114060 can only be in one of those 2 series.

So don't be worried about that.

The right place to post this discussion is in the Watch Out!!! section - whether it is genuine or not we don't discuss fakes here.

While it is true the S/N is not on the inner SS ring surrounding the dial (the rehaut), a simple picture of one side of a watch is too little to draw any conclusions.

When you re-post in the Watch Out!!! section, please take many better shots of front, back and inside the clasp - plus any warranty paperwork/cards you were given.

That's a ceramic sub and I'm certain it's engraved on the rehaut!

I did a lot of research and there's no information that there is no serial number between the lugs for the #114060.

I bought it from my brother's friend that owned watch shops specializes in selling pre-owned and brand new watches. Because it's not a cheap watch therefore I did some research and tried to open the bracelet to check if it's authentic. I do not think my brother friend will cheat but it's better to be safe.

I'll attached herewith more photos.

Please double confirm with me that the new submariner serial number is not engraved in between the lugs.

I have the serial number on 6 oclock of the inner ring next to the Rolex Rolex Rolex wording. The serial reads "92NA****" but i could not find any sites that check the authenticity of the serial as well. Please help. Thanks

After reading comments from you guys, I'm quite relieved that I have the understanding that the serial number is on the inner ring now and not in between the lugs.

I guessed I'm just worried too much.

Thanks guys.

it is legit, don't worry.

no fake rolex comes with the new seal stickers including the barcode at the side case, on other side of the crown.

nice purchase and combo with the nato.. congrats

These are expensive so imo it's best to check with the experts on this site. I refer to the "rehaut" as the inner flange of the watch face.

Bought my newest rolex in march 2013. When I checked the internet regarding date of manufacture per the serial number... best I could find was 2011+. cheers

Too many fake Rolexes on the market not to be worried :( And because I did not bought it from an authorized Rolex dealer, I became more worried.

Given your concerns about the watch, I'd take it to your RSC for a checkup. You'll know soon enough if it's legit or not.

Enjoy your new Sub, looks great. If you're still in doubt take it to a dealer and have them check it then you'll be 100% sure.
BTW welcome to TRF.

Looks good to me based on your pics.

Oddly enough I have a v serial that includes my serial number in the rehaut as well as inside the lugs. It was interesting to learn that this ended with g and random serials.

I asked the Mods to get this in the right section - thanks guys!

From those pictures it looks authentic. The right thing to do now is have it opened by the RSC or another place with a certified watchmaker. Verify the movement and then close it up properly, followed by a pressure check.

There is no place on the Internet where we can verify any Rolex serial numbers. Yours has the newer random serial number format - nothing special about that but no way to verify except at RSC.
