Vintage Explorer
I have an older Oyster Perpetual with the word precision at the bottom. No other information such as the box, maintenance records available. The attached photo shows a strap but that is not a Rolex Band. Any ideas on the age and value. Well over 40 years old.

If it is a early Explorer the case number should be 6098.

I think that's a 6098 too. The case number and serial are between the lugs. Remove the bracelet, which isn't a Rolex bracelet btw, and you'll find both

The only information I can see between the lugs are the words "Registered Design" No indication of a serial or model number.

Should be there. Maybe the aftermarket bracelet rubbed them. A watchmaker can remove the case back which should give you the reference number.

That makes sense. I'm not really up on the older Explorers. Really good info

Can you tell me if the model # is available on these models between the lugs. I can not see that on mine and wonder if it might not be a legitimate Rolex. I have yet to remove the case to see if the model # is on the inside.
