Tourneau - OK to resize / add link?
OK, I need to have a link added to my bracelet.
Orig. AD (900miles away) - can I trust my local Tourneau to do so and resize clasp w/o scratching? Thoughts? Pretty simple but, I don't have the screwdrivers... |

Should be totally routine for any watchmaker, but you hear horror stories all of time. I would take it in and make sure someone there can do it. Ask politely if they have an experienced person there to handle it. Good luck.

I would imagine they would do a fine job. Better than an amateur (you) with tools. I wouldn't do any work on my own watch. I even bring them (it) in to my AD to swap my bracelet (on my Breitling Emergency).

Should be no problem at all for Tourneau. They work on all makes of watches not just Rolex.

Yeah, should be fine.
But why don't you just buy a screwdriver and do it yourself? They are not expensive, and it is not rocket science to change a link.

Bo, I had them do it but, I think I should but my own. Do you suggest a particular set. I have a SS Sub date and am thinking of getting a GMT IIc or a SS Daytona (if I can get one).

You should just go to Radio Shack and buy a set of small screwdrivers and do it yourself, it's easy enough and you don't have to pay 20 dollars everytime you want it done.

Can a decent set of screwdrivers for use with Rolexes actually be found at a place like a Radio Shack?
I'd wonder if they are the right size and not a bit too small and would mar the edges of the screws? Thoughts guys? Also - what size screwdriver do you need to fit the links of a M series SS Sub Date? |
