Is this stock??

Just a quick question...

I am looking at the 16613 TT Sub Black Dial.

I noticed that on the older bracelet...
I see it two different ways.
The clasp is either all stainless.
Or the center of the clasp is yellow gold.

Did they make it both ways?
Or is one of them a mod?

Thanks!!

Newer models have the gold. Don't know the year that it started, but late models without lug holes would have gold on the clasp.

Would love to know how they make TT clasps anyway? Half is gold and half is SS so the must mould or weld it together? Or is the gold part layered on top of the SS?

The gold sheet is fusion welded in place along the center of the clasp..

Not my photo, but does demonstrate the thick sheet gold welded in place..

A serial 1998/1999 and earlier do not have gold in the center of the clasp. P serial 2000 and on do. They may have changed sometime within the serial range so there may be some late A serial 16613 that have gold in the clasp.

Great pic Larry

Made me think of how JJ would be really affronted if anyone said that Bluesy clasp was gold-plate.

Really miss that guy

Hey everyone...
I just noticed something else...

It looks like the newer Rolexes....in the two tone...the dial has white letters instead of gold letters.

What year did they make that change?
