Article on Nadal Wearing his $690,000 RM during Matches

Nadal's RM only costs $690,000 and he wears it during every match. Pretty cool.

RM designed it to be used by him on the court. Same with Bubba's while playing golf. Hopefully Nadal will keep better care of it and not lose it again.

Does Massa wear his while driving, or can it not handle 5Gs?

It isn't as if he paid for it. If it ever broke, they will give him a new one.

I actually do like that RM watches typically get designed specifically for whatever the endorsee needs it to endure. I find it much cooler than strapping a watch on after the fact while someone holds a trophy for a photo shoot or something.

It's not the 5g in braking that RM worries about...but the up to 75g of impact decel that is always a risk...

Yes but with 75G of impact my watch would be my least worry.

I understand RM is a great watch but do you mind sharing what you really admire of RM, specifically?
Thanks in advance

RM's worry starts and ends with the watch - nothing else in the car belongs to them.

But I don't think they would care more for a broken watch than the health of a racing driver.

RM doesn't run the Ferrari team is what I'm implying.

Nothing in the watch endangers the driver. A big hit is actually survivable as many drivers walking around can attest. Mechanical pieces not so survivable.

Yeah, they all wear RM011 on white straps...

And nice to see RM027-1 back on Rafa wrist. He used his old RM027 last 5 tournements, dont know what was the problem with the 01...

No drivers wear watches when they are driving. Quite frankly, they don't fit under the gloves. You see the drivers putting on their watches (at least the top three) after the race as they don their Pirelli winners' caps.

The exception to this is the Mercedes AMG PETRONAS F1 Drivers. They have their IWCs on during the race.

Is that a Big Pilot or an Ingenieur?

Actually he lost the older RM027 not the RM027-1, and it's found a couple of hours later. Don't remember what happened to the first RM he lost... Personally, I am convinced that was part of Richard Mille marketing strategy because, speaking of Nadal RMs, that story gave them more PR than anything else in non-watches circles...
