mid 80s datejust question
Hi Fellas,
I have a question about an 80s datejust that was passed on to me. The watch works and runs perfect time. As far as I know, it has been serviced 2 times from RSC. The thing that I just noticed and really never paid attention before is that when I change the date, after loosening the crown and go to the first notch, instead of winding the crown clockwise, I have to wind crown the opposite direction ( counterclockwise ) for the date to change. Is this normal? Should I be concerned about this even though the watch works fine? Thanks in advance for any clarifications I could get!

That's how all the quickset Rolexes work! I have a TT Datejust circa 1991 and to set the date, crown wind is counterclockwise. Don't worry about it. Can you post some pics!!!!

Your DJ is just fine, Erwin!
The Cal. 3035 used in the DJ at that time was constructed that way.

Its nothing to be worried about. I think counterclockwise is supposed to be the correct direction to advance the date. Turning in the clockwise direction has no effect when the crown is pulled out to the first notch.
