How shockproof is your vintage Rolex ?
..after having been thrown, fumbled and kicked around in a cardboard box by the burly <insert express courier name> guys ?
Those of you who have ever been in a courier sorting facility/hub, know what I'm talking about. We treat our vintage watches like our little babies (well, I do) yet we seem to ignore the punishment they go through before arriving at our doorstep. I'm in favor of a personal pick-up if at all practical. What do you think ? |

As long as it's well packaged I don't see an issue

With proper packaging, you could throw it off the roof of the sort facility with no problems. I'm more concerned with "loss" during shipping.

The way Greekbum wrapped mine, I thought it would be safe, short of being shot from a cannon!

I don't worry a bit. I always use next day air and always make sure it's packed correctly. I only worry about them losing it and even that is in the back of my mind.

If you saw how 1665's were used back in the day (U.S. Navy), you would not be too concerned over a well packaged reference. Good luck and don't worry...

you could always put one of those g shock recording stickers inside ,, but if it came back registering a shock , then you would only worry ,,, so really , a lot of bubble wrap , and faith.
