sea dweller 16660 question
I've searched and searched in internet and I can't find the answer.
When setting the date (first click out on the crown, and counterclockwise turns), are there times when doing so can damage the movement? After 20 years of owning this thing, I finally read somewhere that certain automatic watches will get damaged if you change the date too close to midnight.....which I just did yesterday.... Have I damaged my movement? |

On Rolex watches with quickset date feature, like the SD 16660, it does NOT harm the watch to change the date close to 12 AM.
Still, to be on the safe side, why not just be sure to set the date at other times than around midnight?

I'm not 100%, but I remember Rolex owners and some AD's advising not to change date between 10pm and 3am.....ROUGHLY.
I recall reading a Rolex owners manual stating the same thing, but it may have been relating to vintage. Man, I was at a RSC today, if I read this post earlier I would have asked. John. |
