Omega vs Breitling?

Hey everyone... Debating between an Omega 46mm Seamaster Planet Ocean Chrono (blue dial, blue rubber strap) and a 44mm Breitling Bentley GT or 46mm Navi World, again blue dial/blue leather strap... No, I don't dive, and no I'm not a world traveler, I just like the the larger sized chronos and the blue/blue is a must for me
So, any thoughts between the 2? Better watch, brand, finish, movement, resale etc...
Thanks for the help

Tough call, although I'd lean towards the Navitimer. Personally I think Omega and Breitling are in the same ballpark quality-wise. I'd expect the Omega to resale better, but if you get a good enough discount on the Breitling that will probably be moot IMHO. Since every "this or that" thread should have pics, here are a couple (from Luxury of Watches and Disciple of Chronos, respectively):

And since you like bluish-gray on bluish-gray chronos, I'll just throw this out there too (pic from authenticwatches.com):

I prefer the Omega. Good luck with your decision.

For me Navi is a too busy, but this is subjective and it still looks nice. If you're planning to swim with it I'd say skip the Navi as it has fairly low water resistance, 30m as I recall.

that Navi model you are looking for does not have the movement to compete with the movement of the Omega you are considering, in my opinion...a Navitimer with the B01 would be a better comparison, but even then, the beauty of the PO 9300 outweighs in my opinion, it just looks more modern and classy with many finishes and surfaces on the dial, while the Navi is closer to what it was decades ago but its a bit too busy for a non-user of those slide rules.

Thanks for all the info... The search goes on, as I now believe the Navi may be a lil busy, and till I see the Omega in person, I don't think I can commit to it.

I'd go with the Omega PO chrono. Keep in mind that the blue one you're looking at is titanium and is very very light. Some people love this, some don't. Try it on first, if you haven't already.

Omega. The recent models are fantastic. For those who have not tried them on, I recommend you to do so. Some models give Rolex a run for their money, in my opinion.

I owned a blue navi world and it was a great watch, but despite being a Breitling fanatic, I would recommend the PO for you because of the movement and water resistance.

Something to keep in mind: I couldn't get the World wet and that was always on my mind if I was around water. Also, the gmt feature was cool at first but I found over time that it pushed the dial over the "too busy" threshold as the novelty of it wore off.

Let us know what you pick!

The blue PO liquid metal Titanium is a great piece. If you can get it at a good price, go for it. I have the Orange outer ring black dial amd love it.
I just ordered a B04 Chronomat GMT with blue main dial and silver sub dials. It also is going to have a blue Croc band. Not a fan of the Navtimer.. to complicated.. damn slide rule.

grabbed this pic off Chrono 24 but this is what I ordered.

I have been given the impression that Breitlings need to be serviced a lot more often most brands. And with the cost to repair chronographs that will really add up.

No contest. The POC 9300 Ti/Lm is a great watch. I miss mine it was just a little big on me.

A few years ago it would be a tie, but today Omega gets my vote. If you buy a Breitling, make sure you buy it right.
