Is this an actual Bond watch?

Hi, im sure this subject will have been covered before. Is this an actual Bond watch or just a 70's Sub. I thought the actual bond watch was only made circa the late 50's early sixties

http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Rolex-5513-sub...QQcmdZViewItem

Thanks

No its not just a 5513 the true Bond sub was without crown guards and had a large brevet crown. Have a look at this old in-from link.

WOW just read your previous post/book on the bond watches- great reading thanks.

So it is a latter bond watch BUT NOT the original one used by Sean Connery.

Well in todays market most dealers try to make out that all vintage Subs are Bond subs good for selling. While it is true in later movies like On Her Majesty's Secret Service, George Lazenby has a Rolex Submariner 5513 and later Roger More used the 5513. But the real valuable Bond subs are the ones without crown guards thick case and large brevet crowns. In todays market same for the Paul Newman Daytona they call 6263/5 Paul Newman's but in reality they are not true Paul Newman's.But it looks like a good example of the 5513 with all the original bits as well, and a 660ft / 200m dial that indicates it was made for the European market.

Definitely not - just look the crown guards.
But it is a beautiful vintage Sub - if it is as described.

Well the 6536 is a bit to early for any Bond watch the real first Connery Bond watch had a thick case and large Brevet crown. Now the 6536 model non chronometer movement just the word Submariner on dial and depth in gilt, production year 1955 to 1958 later 6536/1 with the chronmeter movement production 1957/61 again Submariner on dial depth in gilt but with official certified chronometer. Now the real bond sub most probably a 6538 and that looks like the dial type in the ebay watch.Well a all original would be the most valuable but dials did get changed in those days as part of a service or if damaged etc.As to value well thats down to what someones willing to pay for it but myself would pass.

It was me that asked the question- I just wanted to know if this was the original bond watch? I do not doubt its authenticity whatsoever, i just wanted to understand a bit more about the different models of bond watches and what was the original one used in Dr no.
