White Polar Exp 2 (42mm) vs Datejust 2 (41mm) white dial

Hi Fellas,

Searched forum but didn't find anything specific to my question. I know the Explorer can be an everyday watch. What are your thoughts on the Datejust 2? I dress down on weekends and after work so would like to purchase 1 of the 2 for dress wear but also casual to super casual. Any advice/experience is greatly appreciated.

I own a Sub as well and love it!

I'd don't own either, but I do like the black dialed ExpII. GMT feature is a plus for me, and it looks pretty sharp.

Have owned both and both work as everyday watches.

It's down to the one you like the most, maybe the DJII is a better all rounder as it it a bit classier than the ExpII and is just as tough.

Thx fellas. My wife thinks black explorer looks too much like my sub (black dials). She talked me out of black Expkorer. Lol!

I wore my White Dialled ExpII every day for about 18 months and in every type of situation. I think it's a great everyday piece.

So look at the Polar option if you still like the Exp II, you can wear it in all situations and look cool.

Exp2 more versatile and casual, DJ 2 is dressy and lacks GMT plus the impractical PCL that will brush itself with daily use!

I remember trying it on and for some reason I left the store with it on my wrist.

Javi,

I'll let you test drive my Polar 216570 anytime you want.

Just not next week... I need it for my trip to Minneapolis.

Explorer 2 white is just a beautiful and versatile watch.

I also find it looks great on Natos and switch it up quite frequently.

That would get my vote!

The DJ II or DJ are some of the best all around watches you can buy. Suit, Jeans/tee, Tux, Business casual it works with everything the EXII is a bit more sporty and doesn't always work in formal occasions. I love both watches esp the polar, if you have other dress watches go with EXII is you have other sport watches go with DJ.

You may have to get both. I own the polar explorer and the DJ2 with slate dial, green romans and two tone.

Personal choice, but the EXPII Polar I had was underwhelming to me. I need a bit more shine on my wrist and the EXPII just had too many brushed surfaces.

DJII gets my vote.

That's funny. I was done to these 2 models also and went with the DJII.
I'm still not sure I made the right choice - but if I had bought the explorer, I would be wishing I bought the DJII.
Only way to solve this? I'm going to have to get the polar explorer also now.

Crisp white DJ2 is the perfect foil to the black sub.

If I followed all your comments sounds like you currently have a Sub? If so, won't your Sub work for very casual situations? If you want something that will "dress up", go with the DJII. I don't have one but suspect it would "dress down" as well, especially an all SS model with WG fluted bezel.

I had an EXPII, loved it for about a year and flipped it for a GMTII. Only reason I did was because the size, at 42mm, was too big for my 6.5" wrist. It was a great everyday watch but IMO a little too plain for dress up. Just go try on the EXP and the DJ and see which one sings louder.

I need to show some DJII love here. I think the white dial in either watch is great, so stick with that. I wear my DJII most of the time, it really is nice with shirt and tie, jeans, tshirts, sweatshirts, and today a beat up hoody.
