16550 back and looking Damn Good!!!
Hi All,
I had my 16550 in to RSC Bexley UK for a bit of a tune up. Dropped it off in mid February and picked it up last week. £381 later and she is looking bang on. Just short of a quarter century old and looking just out of the box new. The pics don't really do it justice. Dial, Hands, Bracelet/clasp and case all original. New sapphire crystal and a new original 16550 wide numeral bezel |

Hats off to RSC! I sent my GMT 16750 in for the overhaul and I truly believe they threw my original watch out and gave me a brand new one with the same serial #. They do an incredible job.
Wish I could get service like that for my Porsche!!! Enjoy your "new" watch!

Rolex 16550 Cream Dial.
Looks great!
I'm getting ready to send my 16550 Cream Dial off t RSC. I'm curious, what condition was your crystal and bezel in? As you can see in the picture my bezel is quite worn and the crystal has a few chips in the edge above the 12. Did they recondidtion the bracelet? thanks Phil |

Hi Phil, Great watch you have there mate My crystal had lots of little nicks around the edge (if you look at the before picture it looks like the edge of the crystal between 10 & 2 it looks dull), it wasn't a recommendation to change it I asked them to. The bezel wasn't too bad, but it had been brushed in the past and the enamel was getting thin (you can see it is sunken in and the steel is showing through in places). Here is a before and after comparison. Your watch will look fantastic once done (not that it doesn't now I love that dial). The bracelet was refurbed by Rolex yes and they do a grand job. Cheers, Mark. |
